The office of student affairs sponsored a “Meet the President and the Deans” forum on Tuesday, October 29 in the Great Path Academy Community Commons, focusing on some discussions to how they can work on to make a student’s life and their surroundings at Manchester Community College successful.

Two sessions were held at 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the GPA Commons, giving students the opportunity to participate in either session that accommodated with their schedule.

Students who attended were given the chance to hear from MCC President Gena Glickman, Dean of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (and interim provost) G. Duncan Harris; Dean of Continuing Education Melanie Haber; Dean of Institutional Advancement Endia DeCordova; and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs Pamela Mitchell-Crump.

Also, attending was Director of Finance and Administrative Services Regina Ferrante, who stood in for Dean of Administrative Services Jim McDowell.

“We encourage students to share their concerns and questions about their education and experiences here because we want students to succeed,” Glickman said.

The speakers’ goals were to find ways in which they can work to provide the environment students require to be successful and their roles advocating on behalf of MCC to the Board of Regents for Higher Education and the state legislature.

They also discussed and provided information on student life, library services, student support services and scholarships.

The speakers also gave the opportunity for students to ask questions regarding to their success and life at MCC. The questions merely focused on sources of funding, their experiences and success stories at the college, cooperative education opportunities, and general compliments regarding to the college itself.
