Alerts, on Thursday before 3:00 pm. The alert was a warning to commuters of a bad accident on the intersection of Spencer St and Hillstown Rd in Manchester, near MCC. This intersection provides the quickest way to reach the highway, directly from campus. Another alert at 4:00pm declared the accident had been cleared up and traffic was moving again.

 

The alert sent out to subscribers after the crash:

“Please be aware that there has been a major accident on Hillstown Rd. near Spencer St. The Hillstown Rd entrance to the MCC Campus is CLOSED. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to enter and leave campus using the Bidwell to Ramey Drive entrance. Thank you, Manchester Community College”

 

According to The Hartford Courant, two young children were seriously injured in the collision of a silver Nissan Murano and a blue Honda. The Courant Staff reported that the two children, who were less than a year old, were sent to Hartford Hospital. The police interviewed expressed, “One of the vehicles ran a red light, but it is unclear which one”.
